REVIEW PROCESS

SERVIRE: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat follows a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure that all manuscripts published in the journal meet the highest academic and research standards. The process is designed to ensure the credibility and quality of the research, as well as to provide authors with constructive feedback to improve their manuscripts. Below is a detailed explanation of the peer review process:

1. Author Submits Article

  • The peer review process begins when the author submits their manuscript to SERVIRE through the Online Submission Interface. At this point, the manuscript is assessed by the journal's editorial team to ensure that it fits the journal's scope and adheres to the submission guidelines.

2. Assessment by Editor

  • After submission, the editor performs an initial assessment to check whether the manuscript meets the basic submission criteria, including formatting, quality, and relevance to the journal’s focus.

  • If the manuscript does not meet the criteria, it may be rejected at this stage without further review.

3. Sent to Reviewers

  • If the manuscript passes the initial assessment, it is sent to peer reviewers for a detailed evaluation. SERVIRE follows a double-blind review process, ensuring that both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous.

  • The reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s academic quality, methodology, relevance, and overall contribution to the field of community service and engagement.

  • Based on their evaluations, reviewers will make recommendations regarding whether the article should be accepted, revised, or rejected.

4. Reviews Assessed by Editor

  • Once the reviewers submit their feedback, the editor assesses the reviews and decides whether further revisions are required. The editor also considers any additional comments or concerns raised by the reviewers.

  • If necessary, the article may be sent back to the reviewers for further review if there is significant feedback or conflicting comments.

5. Revisions Required

  • If the reviewers suggest revisions, the manuscript is returned to the author with detailed comments and feedback.

  • SERVIRE emphasizes the importance of timely revisions. Authors are required to submit the revised manuscript within the specified deadline. The revised manuscript must address all reviewer comments and suggestions.

6. Revision of Manuscripts

  • Manuscripts returned for revision should be promptly revised and resubmitted to the Editorial Office before the given deadline date.

  • The revised manuscript should be uploaded via the Online Submission Interface at SERVIRE Submission Portal, specifically in the "Upload Author Version" section from the Review task window under the Author window.

  • The revised document should include the following:

    1. Revised Manuscript File: A Word file formatted according to the journal's Template-based format. This file must highlight all the changes made in response to the reviewers' comments, with revisions marked in blue color to clearly indicate where changes were made.

    2. Notes/Response to Reviewers: A document that includes detailed responses to each reviewer’s comment. Authors must clearly explain how they addressed each comment or why they chose not to make specific revisions, providing justifications for any disagreements with the reviewer’s suggestions.

7. Author Submits Revised Article

  • Once the manuscript has been revised, the author must submit the revised version through the Online Submission Interface. The author should ensure that all the necessary revisions are completed, and that the manuscript follows the journal’s guidelines and reviewers’ comments.

8. Final Review and Decision by Editor

  • The editor reviews the revised manuscript to assess whether the revisions have sufficiently addressed the reviewers’ feedback. The editor will also check that the manuscript adheres to the journal’s formatting and editorial standards.

  • Based on this evaluation, the editor makes a final decision on the manuscript:

    • If the manuscript has met the required standards, it is accepted for publication.

    • If further revisions are needed, the manuscript will be returned to the author for additional changes.

    • If the manuscript still does not meet the journal’s standards after revisions, it may be rejected.

9. Production

  • Once the article is accepted, it enters the production phase. During this phase, the manuscript undergoes final formatting, proofreading, and any necessary editing to ensure it meets publication standards.

10. Publication

  • After production, the article is scheduled for publication in the next available issue of SERVIRE: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat. The article is then made available online as part of the journal’s open-access policy.
