Focus

SERVIRE: Journal of Community Service is an international scholarly journal committed to advancing impact-driven, evidence-based, and interdisciplinary research on community engagement and service. The journal positions itself at the intersection of academic inquiry and societal transformation, promoting scholarship that not only generates knowledge but also produces meaningful and measurable social impact.

SERVIRE integrates diverse fields—including the social sciences (including economics), humanities, education, religion, law, culture, science and technology, health, and environmental studies—to address complex and interconnected community challenges.

While rooted in the Indonesian context as a primary site of inquiry, SERVIRE actively engages with global perspectives and comparative insights, positioning local experiences within broader international discourses on community engagement and social transformation. The journal particularly values contributions that demonstrate context-sensitive, participatory, and sustainable approaches, emphasizing the co-creation of knowledge between academics and communities.

Scope

SERVIRE publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed articles that bridge theory, research, and practice in the field of community engagement. The journal welcomes contributions from scholars, practitioners, and policymakers that advance both conceptual and applied dimensions of community-based work.

The scope includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

1. Community-Engaged and Participatory Research

Research that emphasizes collaboration between academics and communities, including Participatory Action Research (PAR), Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), Community-Based Research, and service-learning approaches.

2. Impact-Oriented Community Development

Studies addressing social, economic, cultural, legal, environmental, health, and technological challenges, with clear implications for community well-being, resilience, and sustainability.

3. Applied, Action, and Intervention Research
