JOURNAL HISTORY
Journal History of Journal of Religious and Socio-Cultural (JRSC)
The Journal of Religious and Socio-Cultural (JRSC) was first published in 2020, with its inaugural edition (Volume 1, Issue 1) available in hardcopy format. This journal is published by the Widya Agape School of Theology in collaboration with the Indonesian Christian Theologians Association (PTAKI) and Relawan Jurnal Indonesia (RJI). JRSC focuses on interdisciplinary studies between religion and culture in the Indonesian context, covering areas such as interfaith theology, religious philosophy, religious history, linguistic studies of religious texts, practical theology, mysticism, and socio-cultural issues related to religion, such as pluralism, identity, ethics, and community development.
In October 2024, JRSC received SINTA 5 accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia (Decree No. 177/E/KPT/2024). Since then, the journal transitioned from hardcopy publication to an online format, with e-ISSN 2808-1595. It now publishes biannually in April and October. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure high academic standards.
Since Volume 5, Issue 1, 2024, this journal has published full-text articles in English only, after previously publishing articles in both Indonesian and/or English in earlier issues. The decision to publish exclusively in English reflects the journal's commitment to international academic engagement and accessibility.
As part of its ongoing improvements, JRSC revised its manuscript template on May 10, 2025. The updated template ensures greater clarity, uniformity, and alignment with international scientific publishing standards.
On October 23, 2025, the Journal of Religious and Socio-Cultural was submitted to Scopus for evaluation. This marks a significant step in the journal’s pursuit of global recognition and further academic impact.
